Organizing through the strength of human relationships
Rally is a relational organizing tool for progressive political campaigns. Relational Organizing is a strategy used in political organizing to mobilize people based on their pre-existing relationships and social networks.
I worked with a team of four developers, four internal stakeholders, and a product manger to design tools used by volunteers and campaign admin, create a design system, develop branding, and design a marketing site.

Political Mobilization App for Volunteers
Rally's primary web app is designed for volunteers and paid participants of political campaigns and advocacy organizations. These people reach out to their social network to engage in conversations about candidates, political issues, and voting. They use the Rally app to record and track these interactions with their contacts. We call the users of this tool "Mobilizers".
For the Mobilizer app design, I performed research, strategized improvements, collaborated on new features, remodeled the information architecture, redesigned existing and created new user flows, designed low and high-fidelity prototypes, and user tested the product.

The Rally team wanted to create a warm, friendly look & feel, as well as highlight its female-led team. I selected typography and an illustration to align with this style, as well as brand colors that were inspired by traditional American colors with a modern, feminine touch.

In order to scale the design and development of Rally, we needed to build a design system as a way to work faster, while ensuring consistent and unified UX. I worked with the product and engineering team to create a library of reusable design components in Figma.
